How to invest in Start-Ups during a Recession
When I think about early stage investing these days, I feel like I have the proverbial angel / devil on my shoulder.
The angel tells me: “This is a great time to invest. Valuations are down; deal competition is less fierce. Do you know how many unicorns were started in recessions!?!”
The devil just laughs and replies: “Yeah, right. The Europe, US and Asia are all forecast to be in recession this year. Who is going to buy the new products & services?”
So, who is right? The angel or the devil? Or both!?
HERmesa’s next Education Event: “How to Invest in Startups During a Recession” is designed to answer this question. Drawing on the experience of both angel and institutional early stage investors, we are going to dig into the opportunities and risks in the current market.
